What are some Reason to why Teenagers should pay for their destruction and vandalism?

This is for an essay i have due this Monday and i really need good reasonsWhat are some Reason to why Teenagers should pay for their destruction and vandalism?
Putting very young people in prison or juvie may result in them learning to be more destructive. Being forced to repay the damage they have caused should result in them learning that uncontrolled behavior has consequences to both the perpetrator and the victim. Actually, its the only thing that results in a fair outcome to everyone involved. What are some Reason to why Teenagers should pay for their destruction and vandalism?
Every action has an equal and opposite reaction - equate to punishing a child, i.e. no TV for a week if you mouth off to parents. Pay the Piper, If you do the crime you do the time. all those old sayings, so true........
We have to learn from our mistakes and things we do wrong. If we do not pay for what we do wrong we will never learn our lesson. Lessons are a part of life and to do destructive things to other people isnt fair. Teens need to learn how to be responsible for actions they take this will make them become more responsible adults.
you really need a good reason? How about they need to learn to take responsibility for their action and realize there are consequences to every decision they make.
The obvious one: he who causes damage or injury to others should pay restitution.
Look at it from the other end...why should they NOT ?
Who else would someone suggest pay?

I find it hard to find any reason they should not pay. Someone will have to clean up the mess, I've always though the person that creates the crap should wind up with correcting it.
It teaches that tehere are causes and effects. If you destroy or damage something intentionally that does not belong to you. You should be held responsible if that can be washed or cleaned and put back in the originall condition then you should do so. If not then you should pay to have your destruction rectified.
SO they can learn to construct sentences without sounding like Yoda?
