Right now it's creamy yellow and too bright with these flourescent lights, although I am getting a lamp. I'm planning on buying the paint this afternoon. I want my clients to feel comfortable, calm, and think clearly.I'm a counsellor for teenagers. What colour should I paint my office and why?
Green is a good color for relaxing people... a nice soft greenI'm a counsellor for teenagers. What colour should I paint my office and why?
white makes people feel uncomfortable, and blank. purple is the color of confusion, black, well thats just not good for talking out problems. pink, a nice very light pastel pink is nice because its relaxing, and yet in another way cheerful. for an office, dont buy neons, its just distracting. try light colors. green does work like the other person said. doctors use that color to relax the patients. but you know how ALL the green makes you feel uncomfortable? all the green gloves, the chairs, the examination tables? well dont OVER use the color , or any color for that matter.
I have to say, I would hate pink in my office.
Green is the most relaxing color. I have green in my bedroom (my location at the present moment) and I don't think I could ever change the wall color. It is just too good.
It's nice to hear that there are people who care about teens these days. Keep up the good work!
a warm brown is nice too...home-y. A lamp is a great idea...you can get one at home depot too.
BLACK!!!for all them emos!!no j/k...a deep color, because deep colors create a certain ambience that makes people feel comfortable, like at a restaurant, you will see how some places have a deep red or deep green, or sometimes marbelize tan or beige..it's a personal choice I guess..but I reccomend a deep, dark base, not black, just something of a darker shade
Blue enhances one's sense of well-being, or so the books say. Red creates unease, and is used by fast food chains to hurry people through their restaurant, to make way for more customers.
My home town once did research on what best color to paint the cell block at the police station. They discovered that pinkish tones were supposed to be calming - maybe a warm pinky beige to promote relaxation and open thoughts/communication?
I agree with the artist on the toilet. But I would think you, a counselor would know best about that kind of stuff.
As for the pink thing... I knew a couple who painted their bedroom and dinning room pink for that reason...they had a really nasty divorce. It must have been the wrong shade of pink.
I'm a teenager and in my opinion, blue is the best choice. Blue makes teenagers (perhaps everyone) feel calm, comfortable and ready to talk about their problems. Blue forms a friendly and cool environment. Moreover, you should decorate the wall so that it will look more attractive. Can I have your Yahoo ID? I have many questions to ask you.
I say go with black
the kids would look around, see its not anything they expected and would welcome you right in.
wait... did I say black? what I REALLY meant was summer sage, thats the color go to with ;-)
The website I found below may help. There has been a lot of scientific research into the effects of color on people and I remember that one finding was that bright pink was soothing to violent criminals!
