I already put college, not being who they are to fit in, taking advanced courses but being less social. I need 5 more. Any suggestions? What are 5 major decisions teenagers face as they go through life?
That depends on the teenager as not all teens are the same nor do we all have the same life-experiences. Sure, we all deal with our families, peers, and school, but our experiences vary.
What are 5 major decisions teenagers face as they go through life?
I think five decisions teenagers are faced with are the following :
1. Passing those pointless standardized tests to graduate. At least that's what they do in my school. You have to pass all parts of the OGT's or you don't graduate. In fact, I'm taking them this year, hahaha. I hate standardized tests, mainly because I hate studying and not knowing what may or may not appear on the test. The teachers never tell us except for two of mine I can name of. We try to spent countless hours studying for so long, biting our nails and pulling out our hairs on the day of the test so concerned in getting a perfect or at least decent score.
2. Another thing that runs on a lot of teenagers minds is the future. For me, I'm excited yet overwhelmed of what might happen in the future. There's all this pressure and decision making into what college do you want to go to and what you want to do when you grow up and where do you want to live and the worries of if you'll be a successful adult or some hobo eating out of the Denny's dumpster. As you said, college is something that's probably on more than half these teenagers minds.
.
3. Trying to be popular/fitting in, in high school. This is something a lot of teenagers may or may not want. Me personally, I think teenagers like that feeling of feeling special and so well liked in school so we do everything we can to mold into someone else, something other people want us to be all so we won't get shoved into lockers or tripped down the stairs or taunted and attacked in the girls/boys restrooms. We all want this popularity from people in school we don't even know, people who we won't see after high school - they'll more than likely be long gone and it's a fat chance you'll see them again. But teenagers don't look at it like that, well not all of them do.
4. Trying to find yourself. When I mean trying to find yourself I mean trying to discover you who really are. Maybe this doesn't really happen until you're out of high school and into a more mature environment such as college. But I personally am trying to discover who I really am, my preferences and my likes and dislikes. It's kind of frustrating.
And I'm sorry I can't think of a fifth one, but I at least came up with four.
5 major decisions would probably be :
- Sex , what age to lose your virginty, who ? is it the right time ?.
- School , what college / university your going to
- Drugs %26amp; Alcohol, should we experiment just for the experience; stay clear of them altogether, peer pressured into trying perhaps.
- Peer Pressure , should we give in and conform into what the rest of the people are doing ? what would happen if i strayed from the status quo ? would people accept me if i dont do what they`re doing ? What would people think of me ?
- Family %26amp; Friends , when can i stray from my parents ? what will they think of me ? have i ' changed ' ? If i do what i choose, will it please them ?
