5 teenagers in the last week have died from being struck by lightning?

Isn't this an unusually high number, and what could be causing it? All the deaths occured between Virginia and Georgia.5 teenagers in the last week have died from being struck by lightning?
It just goes to highlight the fact that while you normally hear mostly about the death and destruction caused by tornadoes and hurricanes, on average lightning actually kills more than the both of those combined, and is second only to flooding. There is nothing really unusual about it, just that they happened in a relatively short amount of time.5 teenagers in the last week have died from being struck by lightning?
Virginia and Georgia are sort of close to each other on a Global scale. Due to this fact, weather fronts might have caused the same/similiar storms to take place in both areas.

Still, it seems very unusual that these deaths have happened!
Wow, I live in Virginia and never heard anything about that! That's crazy. I'd say it's a high number, j/b you never hear about that kind of stuff happening too often. And 5 in a week? Wow.
what could have casued it was the storms that hit there and they might had have had metal or have been wet when the storms hit
Looks like lightening didn't like them.
