What kind of used cars are safe for teenagers?

I have a teenage daughter and i want to buy her a used car. Any suggestions on a safe car? What kind of used cars are safe for teenagers?
its not the cars that need 2 be safe its the teenagers that get other people in accidents when either drunk or on a cell phone or anything else that they do because they are dumb ... no offence im only 15 but atleast im more mature for my ageWhat kind of used cars are safe for teenagers?
Assuming your daughter is a safe driver (the most important factor) you should look at Honda Accords and Toyota Camrys.
Volvo try to get a late 80's early 90's model. They are reliable and very safe.
Great car for a teenage girl is something big ugly and slow! According to the National Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. THE safest car series on the road in America today is the Ford Crown Victoria/Mercury Grand Marquis/Lincoln Town Car. These are Fantastic cars! They are both safe in a crash, as well as very unlikely to be involved in a crash. Their style just does not inspire people to drive like teenage maniacs! Driving them just makes you want to 'float' everywhere at 30mph. They also get surprisingly good mileage considering their size...expect about 20mpg. They are Very Durable and have proven themselves reliable in years of service as police cars and Taxis. AND as a BONUS! THEY ARE CHEAP TO BUY! These are unpopular cars because most people only want smaller sporty cars OR 'Stupid Useless Vehicles'. You can usually buy a really mint condition one for only $2500-3000.00. And at that price, you wont mind all the parking lot dings from the High School parking lot OR the inevitable crunched fender! Good Luck!
Pedal-cars. And you buy one of those orange safety flags for it, and don't let her take it in the street...
Buy your teenager a Tank,

he won't get hurt that way...
Dodge Viper SRT-10

Chevrolet C6

Jaguar XK concept

Lotus Elise

Opel speedster

These car are safe with their ceramic brakes, 4 point seat belt, carbon fibre cockpit, 4 side air bag upto 7 set i.e, it can save you upto 7 crashes, is this not safe enough. And there are second hand avilable too.
toyota mr2 spyder... really good safety... trust me
The safest car is an old volvo. While they can be a little expensive to fix mechanically, you can find them pretty cheap; just be sure to get one that's been maintained, which most have b/c their owners love them. Older volvos are very like tanks- heavy, steel, VERY good in snow and rain. A bonus is that they are also very cool looking, so she should appreciate that. Good luck. Also, I would suggest a stick shift b/c usually people who learn early in a stick are very comfortable with them throughout life. Finally, talk to her about road rage- not so much hers, but that of others. Defensive driving cannot be overemphasized- they talk about it in driver's ed, but they do not give real life examples.
It depends how much money you want to spend, but a good place to look is www.euroncap.com this gives a safety rating on all manufacturers
what yer looking for is something that she cant trust to drive too fast. look into an older truck that doesnt have power steering, something that no matter how fast it's able to go, she's too scared to push it. also, trucks this old tend to be built like tanks, it's damn-near impossible to wrap one around a tree. they just destroy the tree and keep going. I'm only 16, I acually sought out a 1967-1972 pickup. I ended up with a '72 Chevy C10, manual steering. I rarely go over 40 on twisty 2-lane roads in that thing, even tho it's engine is capable of whipping down them at 60. However, I tend to cruise in my little '95 Nissan, which handles like a slot car, at about 55MPH on the same roads. why? the truck is just too hard to steer at that kind of speed on those roads, so i dont take it that fast. also, the brakes on it are borderline not working at all, so i dare not go too fast on the straights either. i dont recommend the shot brakes, but you might want to look into such a vehicle for your kid. trust me, she's safer in it than anything else on the road. another plus is that she'll get plenty of excercise parking that thing every day at school with the manual steering. get one with power steering and she's liable to sling it into a tree. another plus is that it's easy to fix when it does break, and alot cheaper to replace should she acually wreck it badly enough to total it, which is second to impossible. it's also fender-bender proof, so you wont have to worry about expensive dent pulling.
old one that doesnt go very fast
