Why do children and teenagers have an obsession with getting hurt?

It seems like a lot of children and teens want to get hurt for some odd reason. Why is that? Is it only for attention? Or is there something else too?Why do children and teenagers have an obsession with getting hurt?
To tell the truth it just seems like they are hellbent on killing theirselves ,but take a trip down memory lane, and you will find it hasnt changed in 100 years, we did the same thing, and we are still kicking. sure miss those crazy days dont you/ BarryWhy do children and teenagers have an obsession with getting hurt?
Although every person is different, it is often seen that they have a pity complex. They pair the feeling of being hurt with the rewards of being a victim and being rescued. The attention they get for getting hurt increases the likelihood of them wanting to get hurt again. Also, it could be an inferiority complex in which they want to be seen as a top dog/king of the castle. Because they are smaller than adults they want to prove that they have physical strength, even if it means that they will hurt themselves in the process.
i think sometimes teens or kids can get really sad and hurting yourself gives you a rush, something that reminds you that your alive, your a person, you feel things.
well i just want to get really sick so that i can be in the hospital and finally have a tangible reason to be miserable
