Do all teenagers have to do volunteer work to finish high school and if so how much?

I am still in middle school but I'm curious about the subject. I seached all kinds of websites but I'm still not satisfied with the answers.Do all teenagers have to do volunteer work to finish high school and if so how much?
In my high school doing volunteer (also known as community service) is something that's not requiered to graduation but if you did complete say 30 hours or more you would get a yellow honors chord. I'm trying to do that plus get what is called an honors diploma which means I have to work my butt off. But it will be worth it, anything to help me get into NYU is worth it.Do all teenagers have to do volunteer work to finish high school and if so how much?
it depends on the school. I live abroad (I'm a u.s. citizen though) and attend an american international school that requires community service to graduate. I believe that its 25 hours per year or 50 per year in the

11th and 12th grades if you do the I.B. (International Baccalaureate) program.
I'm pretty sure it varies by school. I went to two high schools -- the first one (in Michigan) required 30 hours of documented community service to graduate. The second school (in Pennsylvania), however, required no community service. Perhaps it has something to do with state funding?
You don't need volunteer work to finish high school, but you'll need it if you're going to college since that is one of the factors that colleges look at to see if you're acceptable.
I'm guessing it depends on which school you go to cuz my friend down in Florida has too and i never heard it up here so i really don't know talk to a guidance counsel
yea ';community serivce'; which is basically sitting in a class and talking about doing something. Its such a low number of hours it aint worrying about, the school gets it all in for u
It varies by state, and even by school district. I'm in Northwest Georgia, and it's unheard of here.
Some schools do not require volunteer work, Contact the high schools that you may go to and ask them directly./
i never had to do volunteer work to graduate
depends on the school... ours had a mandatory 50 hours to graduate
I never had to. That **** is lame.
i heard about that too, but im not sure. I think it depends on the school
